About Veggie Places

The Veggie Places site was set up in 2003 to help vegetarians and vegans, who like us needed somewhere decent to eat. We offer a free service, particularly useful to small businesses that don't have a budget for marketing. The site is funded from our own pocket - to the tune of several hundred pounds every month. We run it in our spare time and rely on scores of volunteers who let us know about places they have found, places that have closed and write reviews.

How you can help:

  • Let us know if anything is out of date. Just drop a mail to info@veggieplaces.co.uk

  • Add a new veggie place. If a place is wholly vegetarian, we generally put it on the site.

  • Add a veggie friendly place. If a place is veggie-friendly, we must have a detailed review, with more than 'vegetarian options are available' as a justification.

  • If you are the owner of a place, send us an image of the outside and encourage your customers to post reviews.

  • Advertising - if you want to advertise, please drop us a line for our rates. We are highly rated by Google for keywords such as 'vegetarian restaurant' and attract over 50K visits a month

Our aims:

To promote the vegetarian and vegan ethos and lifestyle

To encourage restaurants, cafes and hotels to be more aware of our needs

To promote those places that make a genuine effort to cater for vegetarians and vegans

To encourage food producers and manufacturers to become more "veggie aware"

To provide a fast and accurate way for users to locate a vegetarian, vegan or veggie-friendly place

To actively work with the various vegetarian and vegan organisations and societies in order to promote vegetarianism and veganism
