Gourmet Girls Pop Up Resturant occurs every Friday night with a different menu each week. It's held in a fab little deli called Fanny's of Hanover. Paula and Sammy are perfect hosts and the food is divine. It's vegetarian, 100% vegan suitable and is Brighton's best kept secret for veggie dining. We are now firm regulars because as the menu changes each week you can try so many different cuisines and dishes. The menu is published before the event on their website so when you book you know you will like everything and no suprises. It can get very busy so you need to book in advance. It is a BYO but soft drinks are available. We've deserted both Food for Friends and Terre a Terre for Gourmet Girls because we feel the food is of a much higher and fresher quality and just much better tasting. It is also much more price competitive. It is cash only so you need to visit a cashpoint in advance but the website tells you how much each course costs and you can choose if you want to eat starter or dessert ( or if you are like us, both!) Portion sizes are good. You will leave feeling stuffed. It's not just for vegans. Veggies and even those who want to cut down on meat will really enjoy the gourmet food. The puddings are to die for. We'd strongly recommend Gourmet Girls to any Brighton residents or visitors. You can book tables of any size. It's not one long table for everyone to sit together so no need for Brits to have to talk to people they don't know! There is space for romantic tables for two on the ground floor, tables in the lovely decorated and homely basement for larger groups or if sunny there are tables on the patio garden. We think Gourmet Girls is the jewel in the crown of Brighton's veggie dining and of the same standard as Candle 79 in New York. The beer battered nori wrapped tofu ("vegan cod") homemade chips and tartare sauce was my favourite. My veggie husband loved his Elvis Burger on the Gourmet Burger
night. We give Gourmet Girls 5/5.

I can't believe the last reviewer gave a review when they didn't even go here! I've seen lots of bad reviews for places I've tried that are great and great reviews for places that when I went were very disappointing ( Blossom in New York is one of those raved about places but our three tries there over recent years have all been disappointing with food too bad to eat - and I'll eat anything vegan). So to answer their question I'm sorry your review isn't a review. Manna is on top of my to try list once my health permits me. It got a great review in Viva's latest magazine. Can't wait to try it for myself. :0)
(Your review isn't a review either! Hope you get well soon. Ed)

We've always walked past and didn't go in because we didn't know how vegan friendly Iydea was. Now we've finally visited it's one of the best veggie and vegan restaurants in Brighton. The food is just fabulous! Very tasty! You choose a main and then sides to go with it from the counter service. Portions are good and price very reasonable. It's not just salads too which is good for veggies who like their comfort food. There are good choices for both veggies and vegans and the staff were very helpful. We'll certainly go back time and time
again.
