The atmosphere here is wonderful, I might aid I have visited since 2006 and have always felt welcomed whilst not intruded on. There is usually a good range of veggy alternatives to meat dishes and also of pure veggy things (I'm a vegan).
--Also amazing apple, ginger and lemon drink; which i'm not supposed to have because of digestive problems but occassionally I succumb.
--A big hit with my highly meat/dairy orientated family, my grandmother remarked it was the first vegetarian meal she had ever had...but she liked it and didn't feel any meat/dairy was missing.

Having visited this fabulous cafe probably near to a million times, I have to rate it is as my favourite place to eat in the world. "Rainbows End" offers a wide range of always tasty and reasonably priced, freshly prepared, healthy and tasty vegetarian, vegan, and allergy aware food, ( I'm allergic to almost everything and can always find something to eat there!) ranging from tasty colourful and original salads, to soups, Greek mezze platters, gargantuan slices of wholesome filling pies with veggies and rices and all sorts on the side, and the most irrisistible cakes and desserts. Paired with their friendly, knowledgable staff, "Rainbows End" makes for a great lunchtime experience, whether you are in the mood for a drink, a snack, or a full meal (and when I say full, I mean FULL - these guys don't skimp on portions!) you won't leave disappointed... just get there early... if you leave it till 3pm all the best stuff is usually gone. Expect a 5 to 10 minute queue as well around 1pm - as it's popular with the locals and vistors alike. Choose to eat inside (non smoking), in the conservatory (smoking), or brave the elements out in the courtyard garden (smoking) where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the little birds dancing about and cheeping and doing their little bird thing in the trees. Alternatively take out your lunch in a styrofoam box with a plastic fork, to enjoy in your own personal haven from the chaos of Glastonbury... if you can find one, that is! Not the easiest place to find if you've never visited, "Rainbows End" is in the middle of town, but set back from the street between two shops...entered through an archway. look for their board on the street, a few doors down the hill from the church, or ask a local, everyone knows where it is.

I went to Glasto to visit friends for a weekend. We met at the Rainbow's End for lunch on the Saturday. Being spoilt for choice is such a rare event that we went back again on the Sunday too.
Great, homely food, huge portions and reasonable prices. And yes, it was very busy at peak times.
