I've been back here a few times since my last review and now really like the place. The flowering tea, as mentioned by others, is fantastic. The range of vegan cakes is much better and I'm told that the other cakes are also excellent. All the food I've had here has been great and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that this place is now so popular that there's always quite a wait for a table if you go there on a Saturday lunchtime.

A fantastic veggie haven in the centre of York. My husband I visited from Norwich, and we enjoyed spending a few hours of the afternoon at a table in their quiet upstairs room, watching over the street. The walls were covered with local art that evoked the majesty of the Yorkshire countryside, and the varied music lent an interesting and relaxing atmosphere. The friendly, attentive staff accommodated a request to rearrange things on the menu so I could have a fresh, vegan salad. We ordered a few pots of flowering tea to enjoy the aesthetic beauty of an unfurling flower as well as the taste of the tea. The generous portions meant we didn't have room for cake or pudding, but they all looked delicious. I will definitely be back next time we visit York.

This is a lovely little veggie cafe and deli, ideally situated in the heart of York, a stone's throw away from York Minster. All food is freshly cooked on site, and I was very impressed with the vegan chocolate and cherry cake I had. There is also a good selection of speciality teas, including the spectacular flowering teas. The prices are reasonable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the patio is a delightful place to chill out. I've also tried their delicious spicy potato cakes and samosas, and they get my vote. The deli also sells a good range of vegetarian and vegan wines, and all sorts of sweets and cupboard staples. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I went in for a light lunch and had humous with pittas which was fairly tasty. The place is fairly small but has a bright and friendly atmosphere. I was a bit disappointed at the poor availabilty of vegan cakes.
