I was told by a waitress from a vegan restaurant in Coimbra that Nakite is the best vegetarian restaurant in Porto. I got to Nakite before the restaurant opened for the evening, as I had to catch a train at 19:00. Luckily the lady was happy to serve me even though she was closed. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. So if you’re looking for a good vegetarian restaurant in Porto, I would recommend Nakite!

Porto has several vegetarian restaurants, but we visited this one as it was just round the corner from our hotel. It had a short menu but with a good choice of specials. The waiter explained all the options, including telling me which dishes were vegan. The food was all tasty and well presented - most of the dishes were based on tofu, tempeh or seitan and the accompanying salads were really fresh and tasty. Very reasonably priced too, despite the rate of change we got for our pounds. Well worth a visit.
