Sadly, this cafe has closed, as of January 2013.

The cafe was owned and run by the Centre for Alternative Technology. It seems the cafe (and local wholefood shop they also ran) were costing them too much money.

Perhaps it will be able to reopen under private ownership sometime in the future?

This is a good lunch time cafe. I just wish they'd find a bigger place as it's always too busy at lunch times. I do recommend it and haven't had a problem with the food as other reviewers have.

I went there earlier this month. Very friendly, very nice healthy veggie food. I had a lovely veggie burger and a salad.

Great menu, and the Delhiburger was terrific.

The range of teas was excellent.

We ate late, at about 14.45 on the lunchtime shift and the food kept under the lights looked tired.

My wife had a baked potato with home made hummous; the hummous was great, shame about the shrivelled walnut that was the spud.

Wonderful place let down by penny pinching/inattention to detail.

Very good food served at the counter of this community cafe. Full of information about alternative technology and local community matters. Busy lunchtimes, very friendly. Food is traditional wholefood vegetarian.
